Dr. Jennifer Robohm

We’d love to introduce you to our newest Board member: Jennifer Robohm, PhD. Jen is a clinical psychologist who has spent the past 16 years training health professionals to serve Montana: she directed the Clinical Psychology Center, UM’s on-campus training center for doctoral students in clinical and school psychology, from 2004-2013, and she has been serving as behavioral science faculty for the Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana since 2013. Jen received her B.A. from Yale University and her PhD from the University of Michigan. She is currently enrolled in the Bloomberg Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, seeking an MPH degree to study the physical and mental health impacts of climate change. Jen is excited to recruit more behavioral health professionals to Montana Health Professionals for a Healthy Climate, recognizing that their expertise will be essential to promoting community resilience in the face of climate change.
Jen has been interested in sustainability and the environment for many years, but it was the wildfires in the summer of 2017 in Montana that prompted her to commit more of her personal and professional energies to climate change. Recently, she and Hayley Blackburn, PharmD, a UM colleague, received a planning grant from the Montana Healthcare Foundation to develop climate change and health-related education and training for undergraduate students, graduate-level health care trainees, and practicing health professionals. Next semester, they are offering a course on “Climate Change and Human Health” at UM (cross-listed through MSU), and they are planning a webinar for the spring through the Montana Public Health Training Center. Drs. Robohm and Blackburn will be enlisting the support of climate change and health experts from around the state to provide this training about the current and projected physical/mental/public health impacts of climate change in Montana.
To learn more about these education/training opportunities (including opportunities to audit the course), please contact Jen at jennifer.robohm@umontana.edu
