What is Ride for Their Lives?

Ride for their Lives is a global group of health professionals drawing attention to the fact that climate change and air pollution affects our children. It started in 2021, with a group of pediatric health professionals led by the Head of Climate Change and Health at the World Health Organization. They cycled from Geneva to Glasgow, carrying a report on the health argument for climate action for the leaders of COP26.

How can I ride with you?

Register here for our third Annual Ride for the Lives, September 14, 2024 in Billings, MT.
FREE!
(Donations are appreciated).
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED ALSO! (contact [email protected] to volunteer).

What's the plan?

Riders will bike to and from downtown, experiencing the wonderful commuting bike routes available in our city.
There is a 20 mile route and a 10 mile route, and you can ride whichever you're most excited for!
  • For 20 miles, meet us at Rocky Vista University (4130 Rocky Vista Drive) for a 10 am departure.
  • For 10 miles, join up with us at the West End Children's Clinic (3401 Avenue B) for a 10:20 departure.
  • There will be a mid-way break with drinks and snacks and brief speakers on this topic and Montana action from  10:50-11:10 at the EV chargers in front of the Billings MRI Center (2900 12th Ave. N).
  • Finally, at noon at the zoo, there will be ICE CREAM and PRIZES.
All participants must pre-register here through RunSignUp.
Participants must check-in at the start and wear their armband to participate. Don't forget your helmet!

Air Quality: if AQ is over 150, the ride will be cancelled (airnow.gov for 59101). If AQ is 100-150 we will  have a RALLY for climate change and kids and a shortened ride! All registrants will receive an email by 8am on 9/14/24. If storming, the ride is off; if raining, the ride is still on.

Route map forthcoming.                                                 Photo below from 2023 ride!
